Under the slide some markings are stamped. ![]() Unfortunately, the rear sight had to drill into the top slide. The front sight appears to be soldered on but a skilled gunsmith may be able to fix it. As you can see in the pictures.The slide may have been reblued but if it was it was done a long time ago. All markings on the slide are still crisp, including the Colt Horse, patent dates, manufacture city, state and Model of 1911 U.S. It just slides into the dovetail of the slide and then a screw on top secures it. It came with a rear target sight which I will include(it was easy to remove. But it's probably out of my limited skill set. I recently found a replacement slide so I am selling this one since I no longer need it. This is a Colt 1911 Slide that came off of my 1918 U.S. Because I have a lot to sell and get rid of. I am making room by selling off a lot of spare parts that I have accumulated. ![]()
